Project Spotlight: Marshallton Residence

This quaint farmhouse had so much character, I wanted to keep the furnishings to a minimum so that the decorative mouldings, original hardwood floors, and plaster walls did all the talking. The dining room was a blank slate except for the owner’s existing white roman shades, which I wanted to keep. I added a large display case for their china in a cream colored distressed finish. The salvaged wood dining table is centered along with a beautiful chandelier. I wanted to mix the dining chairs, making the host chairs upholstered and the side chairs in a green wood finish. This multicolored chaput rug was the perfect fit for this spot. It’s casual and stunning at the same time, making it a nice addition to this couple’s colonial home.
